There are very few homeless shelters in the city of York, Pennsylvania that cater to the specific needs of an entire family unit. Often times, families are split apart while they are trying to get back on their feet during this time of incredible need. Miss Bobbi’s Place will provide townhouse style living for homeless or displaced families while they receive the supports they need for sustained independence.
Working with the Redevelopment Authority of York, Miss Bobbi’s Place acquired five properties on West Hope Avenue in York City. Currently, renovations are being completed on Units Two, Three, and Four in order to make them habitable for families.
Community Progress Council has partnered with Miss Bobbi’s Place in order to provide wrap around services for the families living in the homes. Families will receive the necessary programming, classes, counseling, and training to meet their current needs and to help them reach their end goal of sustained independence.
